Ashley Townsend (b. 1999) is a painter and collage artist based in Brooklyn, New York.

Taking influences from Art Deco and mid-century modern design movements, her paintings blend abstract and surrealist styles that playfully evoke a sense of interminable space. With a growing collection of vintage ephemera, she began a series of mixed-media collages that incorporate ads, articles, fabrics, and repurposed relics from the 1950s-70s. Her series titled ‘Anemoia’ aims to capture a feeling of nostalgia for a time one has never known.

She’s the founder of Artists Don’t School, a digital platform and community of multi-media artists committed to amplifying artistic voices. It also serves as an archive of her personal creative projects.
